I finally succumbed to temptation (get it?) to all of the media hype for the movie and am currently reading Twilight, the first of four books in this series.  In itself the story is nothing really out there: girl moves to small town, girl meets boy, boy avoids girl, boy saves girl's life a few times, boy tells girl he's a vampire, boy and girl fall in love, calamity ensues.  Stephenie Meyer's writing style is rather ... convincing, so that you are drawn into the story despite yourself.  It is an interesting read and Twilight is ultimately setting up for further plot developments in the series.  My only complaint so far is the rather bland secondary/tertiary characters, but I think they play the role of making the main storyline that much more intense.  I have high expectations for the three books to follow after I am done with the first one.

Rich has read them all. I started reading Twilight but got bored fairly quickly and never got past the first chapter.
